Indigo and Air India Cancel Flights Today

Air India has announced cancellations of flights to and from key cities including Jammu, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, and Rajkot today. Similarly, Indigo has also canceled flights on May 13 to and from Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Amritsar, Chandigarh, and Rajkot.

Reason Behind Flight Disruptions

Following recent ceasefire developments between India and Pakistan, 32 airports that were temporarily shut down on Monday reopened. Air India and Indigo resumed operations from these airports. However, due to ongoing safety concerns, both airlines have issued travel advisories and canceled flights from several cities to ensure passenger security.

Air India’s Official Statement

Air India posted on X (formerly Twitter), “Considering the latest situation and passenger safety, flights to and from Jammu, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, and Rajkot are canceled on May 13, 2025. We continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide updates.”

Indigo’s Flight Cancellation Notice

Indigo also confirmed cancellations via X, stating, “For your safety, flights to and from Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Amritsar, Chandigarh, and Rajkot are canceled for May 13, 2025. Please verify your flight status on our website or app before heading to the airport.”

Reopening of Airports

The Airport Authority of India had temporarily closed 32 airports due to rising tensions, which were reopened on Monday, May 15, at 5:29 pm. The airports affected by these flight cancellations fall within those 32 locations.
