A tragic incident has shocked Odisha’s capital. A nurse working at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar was found dead inside the bathroom under mysterious circumstances, just hours before she was to return home for Raksha Bandhan celebrations.
Nurse Discovered with Syringe in Hand
The nurse, who was on duty at the time, was discovered with a needle inserted in the back of her hand. According to her brother, police suspect she may have injected herself with a substance. However, the family alleges possible foul play, accusing the hospital management of being involved.
They also questioned the two-hour delay in informing them after the body was found.
Family Rejects Suicide Theory
The nurse’s brother told NDTV that they were initially informed she was found unconscious in the bathroom. Later, police revealed a syringe was discovered in her hand, suggesting suicide.
“I am unaware of any personal or professional issues that could push her to such an extreme step,” he said. He also shared that they had spoken recently, and she was excited to go home to Ganjam district after her shift to celebrate Raksha Bandhan.
Multiple Angles Under Investigation
Police are exploring all possible causes, including:
-
Accidental death
-
Medical complications
-
Relationship issues
-
Workplace harassment
-
Family disputes
CCTV footage from the hospital is being reviewed, and staff members are being questioned. Police presence has been increased at the hospital premises.
